Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2013 - Recap Part I

I had a bunch of Wills Fashion week pictures with me and It's not everyday that I click such good pictures (by my standards ofcourse) so I thought of putting these up to a better use. And while putting these together, I'd been secretly wishing I could take the next flight to Mumbai and watch Lakme Fashion Week. Ugh the bug has bitten :)
Anywho!

Siddartha Tytler's collection was predominantly about Little Gorgeous Black Dresses, bodycon, glittery, sheer and every ingredient you need for Sexy. Anupamaa Dayal's collection titled 'Ishq-e-dilli' was flowy black and whites and took us back to the Mughal era. It was a dreamy affair, the only thing I dislike are Bikini Sarees. They just don't make sense to me (Sorry I was busy disliking it therefore No picture, you can google and see what I'm talking about though). Nikasha's collection called 'Raat Ki Rani' was a little run-of-the-mill, except for the lovely version of patiala bottoms shown in the picture.

Pankaj & Nidhi's Collection, called The Music Box had hints of baroque with contrasting hues and contrasting cuts - Flares in some and clean, straight cuts in others.

Sumptous Flares and very couture line-up of Indian Ethnic. I had plenty of favorites in this one! Style Curry Recommends :)

Label 'ekru' of Ekta Jaipuria & Ruchira Kandhari

The huge Red bindis were consistent throughout the Abraham & Thakore show, oozing substance and elegance through meshy golds. While Rajdeep Ranawat left me a little baffled, even though the clothes were all swagger but some pieces were confusingly OTT. Namrarta Joshipura's show, however, was classy impressive both in direction and apparel.

Taking cues from the 90s and using Indian textiles, was Rina Dhaka's show at the WIFW. It was about no-fuss straight cuts and drop-waists.

Manish Malhotra at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week A/W '13

This was one of my most looked forward to shows in the week, it is the bollywood designer daddy Manish Malhotra we're talking about after all. I must confess I tried to go well in time to grab a good spot in the photographers pit because I knew this show is going to be a full house and It sure was. The chick sitting next to me was leaning all over me to get good clicks.

The show was as usual a starry affair with Siddartha Malhotra (Student Of The Year fame), Esha Gupta (umm what movie was she in? ) and Jacquelyn Fernandes (Not trying to recall any movie she was in). But the point is, all three of them looked gorgeous thanks to the beautiful Manish Malhotra outfits. I loved Jacquelyn's outfit the most, stunning phulkari work with the bandh gala and cut-out back.

Manish Malhotra has been bagging a lot of praises for the social welfare he does by bringing on the ramp traditional craftsmanship. After the kashmiri thread work and chikankari in last few collections, it was time to revisit Punjab in all it's glory. The collection was titled 'Threads of Emotions'. Handcrafted phulkari with a modern twist in the form of anarkalis and lehengas. The menswear consisted of bandh galas and pathanis with turbans.

Masaba For Satya Paul: Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week A/W 13

What happens when king of exquisite prints meets the queen of quirky eccentric prints- Creative genius! Masaba for Satya Paul was an absolute delight to watch. For me, this was the only show that has effortlessly blended fun while keeping intact the wearability. Neon hints and vivid lipstick prints gave the timeless classic Satya Paul sarees a youthful makeover. Also spotted were walking telephone booths, ha! I mean telebooth printed sarees and dresses.

I am SO digging this grey with neon lippie printed dress. It's like Satya Paul is 16 again :D!

What will you be wearing this Spring/Summer?!

Don't you all just adore Spring/Summer season..

Well.. if you're a Delhiite (like me), you might say NO!
It gets crazily hott and sweaty. But Why should any of that stop you from getting dressed to your best? I say.. nothing should :)
Infact I love this season..I think that's because:
1. I dont sweat like a pig.
2. I love bright colors.
Now.. I don't mean you can't wear bright colors in Autmn/Winter..But let's face it. You dont see as much colors and prints in Winters as you do in summers. Winters are inherently Gloomy and dull (I mostly see only blues, blacks and greys around me)

So. Here's my little Closet-Wishlist for this season

1. Maxi dresses are going to be Big this season and why not..They give you such a flowy, Breezy look. Not to forget all the various prints and colors you see them in, oh-so-summery! :)

This one's from Forever 21, I'm not a big fan of paisley but i really like it on this one! The color and neckline as well!

2. We all love short dresses and what better than ruffled short dresses. I love the back of this dress, its so girly and will definitely keep you cool! :)

This dress is from ZARA! Tell me if you've seen it in the stores already?

3. Rompers are Short, rather loosely fitted one peices. A perfect summer outfit i think..and they look so cute and playful!

This one's from Forever 21 too ( no doubt its my favorite store :P )
It has a sweetheart neckline which gives this romper a flirty look ;)

4. I'm all for floral prints this summer.. be it tunics, dresses or flats!

This tunic is from the latest Vero Moda collection. I have quite a few floral tunics so i could do without another one but i found this one just too pretty.

Now, this pair of sequined floral flats is something I've been looking for since last summer :\
and i couldn't find a single pair like the one above. I know bellies are not the best footwear for summer but i'm biased towards them.
The pair above is from Forever 21. Let me know if you see a nice pair like these somewhere around :)

5. Colour blocking is a great way to play with colors on dresses.. So this one's on my wishlist too.

Check out the sexy back of this one..Yeaaaah! ( usher style ;) )

6. Last but not the least... these beautiful Blue wedges. I have a similar one in black but this pair of plaited blue wedges from ZARA wins Hands down!! If only they were a little cheaper. :(
